Frank Cottrell Boyce is an award-winning screenwriter, novelist and short story writer from Liverpool. He wrote the screenplays for the films Forget About Me (1990), Butterfly Kiss (1995), Welcome to Sarajevo (1997), Twenty Four Hour Party People (2002) and Hilary and Jackie (2007). He also writes for children: in 2004, he wrote a book based on his own screenplay – Millions – which won the 2004 Carnegie Medal; his second children’s novel, Framed, was shortlisted for both the 2005 Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread Children’s Book of the Year Award; and his third, Cosmic, was published in 2008 and shortlisted for the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize and the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. Frank is an Honorary Fellow of the Manchester Writing School at MMU.

He has previously published short stories with Northwest independents The Reader Magazine and Comma Press.
