Synopsis

Anthropoetry [an”thro-po’ĕ-tre] n. A poetic, occasionally humorous journey around the human anatomy, attempting to get the measure of modern life.

Adapted from the hit show written and performed by Ben Mellor with sound design by Dan Steele. ‘Anthropoetry’ premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012 and received 4-star reviews and a selection on Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe.

Ben Mellor is an award-winning slam poet (BBC Radio 4 Slam Champion 2009, Diké Omeje Slam Poetry Award 2008), writer and actor. He has featured on BBC Radio 4, the World Service and numerous poetry podcasts. Ben is a founder member of spoken word/hip hop theatre collective Pen-ultimate, whose debut show ‘A Night on the Tiles’ recently toured the UK and Europe, and also performs spoken word and beatboxes in the band Geddes Loom with singer-songwriter and cellist Léonie Higgins and guitarist and sound designer Dan Steele.
