Two poets with great imaginative versatility.

Rescheduled from last year, Penelope Shuttle will read from her latest collection of poems Sandgrain and Hourglass and the forthcoming Unsent: New and Selected Poems 1980 – 2012. Her recent work charts her continuing experience of loss and healing, communicating with her husband Peter Redgrove and remembering their shared past, in her uniquely inventive way.

Samantha Wynne Rhydderch will read for the Wordsworth Trust for the first time, to mark the publication of her third collection Banjo. The new book centres on a celebration of the centenary of Captain Scott’s arrival at the South Pole. It re-imagines the lives of the early Antarctic pioneers, exploring on the extraordinary role of music in surviving the long winter.
