Commonword Children's Diversity Writing Prize Award Ceremony

When : 3rd July 2012 - 5:00pm
Where : Geoffrey Manton Building
Price : Free

You are cordially invited to the Diversity Writing For Children Prize Ceremony which will take place on Tuesday 3rd July 2012 from 5pm to 6.15pm at the Geoffrey Manton Building, Manchester Met University.

There is a shortlist of four including one North West based writer.
Come support the writers as they bask in a little hard won glory and make their first tentative steps on the journey that, with effort and a little luck, will end in publication. One day it may well be you!

The prize will be presented by the celebrity CBBC presenter Cerrie Burnell.

Apart from watching the Award there will be a good 45 minutes for networking with other writers and to meet and talk informally with Puffin’s editorial director Shannon (nee Parks) Mullen, and RCW agent, Catherine Pelligrino – they have both agreed to attend and mingle!

Arts Council’s Literature Officer Alison Boyle will be there too.

And finally, your chance to meet the Commonword staff and find out what Commonword’s plans are for developing Children’s writing over the next 12 months.

The event is FREE – tickets not required. Let Commonword know if you intend to come though. The famous children’s author, Jacqueline Wilson is appearing at the same venue right after, and if all her fans –young and old - come early you will witness what fame may be like once all the hard work is done – lots of screaming fans!

Please let Commonword know if you plan to attend, so they can book the right size room! And kids and other ‘plus 1s’ are of course welcome!
