Impromptu Publishing, a publisher of arts and music magazines based in Manchester city centre, is seeking work experience candidates for their flagship title.

We are looking for work experience candidates with impressive writing skills and a deft approach to detail, layout, and consistency. We’ll work with you to build your time management skills, and you’ll have the opportunity to couple this with working to deadlines. Ideally you’ll have an awareness of issues surrounding the performing arts industry and be able to source a good story.

A typical day might include:
    •    writing news stories and possible feature-length articles of interest to professionals in the performing arts industry
    •    proofreading and sub-editing pages before printing
    •    interviewing and sourcing original quotes, as well as beautiful photos
    •    researching and updating listings of upcoming events
    •    keeping the website updated with the latest news stories, events information, and contributing to our social network feeds.
